Passion for the Future

This is Jon Santos. February 11, 2016, he inspired us to follow our passion. Doing what we want in the future while having income. Isn't that cool?! IT IS!! Turning your hobby into a happy income.

During his speech, there are times that he's making fun, because that's what he do, but most of it is very inspirational. He tell us his very own adventure in life that gives us a clear image.

While listening to his speech, I'm imagining myself, what if I also use my passion to get to the future. On second thought, I did follow, that's why I'm a Multimedia Art Student.

Following your passion gives you a clear image of you having a happy future. A very productive future while living to the fullest.

Although I'm taking the course that will lead me to the future where I can use my passion, I'm thinking that I am not satisfied with it. I think there's still missing from what I am doing right for to reach my goal for the future. Thank you to Jon's Speech, I realized that I should enjoy what I'm doing because this is my key to success. Not enjoying it will lead me to nowhere. I won't accomplish a thing if I'm not happy with what I'm doing. Meaning, I am just wasting my time if I'm not enjoying my passion. That I should enjoy it from the beginning to be happy up to the very end of this journey.

End of his Speech. Everyone is clapping their hands, even I. After that, most of the student go to the stage to take selfies or group pictures. Sadly, I wasn't able to go to stage because it's so crowded.

As I walk outside the auditorium, I set myself as a happy Multimedia Student enjoying his studies to be able to have a successful future just like Jon Santos Have. I am very thankful that APC gave us an opportunity to attend a very inspirational seminar.

The Quijano de Manila

Nicomedes Márquez Joaquín, also known as Nick Joaquin,  was a Filipino writer, historian and journalist, best known for his short story and novels in the English language. He also wrote using the pen name Quijano de Manila. Joaquín was conferred the rank and title of National Artist of the Philippines for Literature.

He is considered one of the most important Filipino writers in English, and the third most important overall, after Jose P. Rizal and Claro M. Recto.

As a famous novelist, He has famous lines! Here are some examples:

"Love should have no alternatives; love should be the sole reason for loving; love should spring of itself.”

“The point is not how we use a tool, but how it uses us.”

“If for us culture means museum and library and open house and art gallery, for them it meant the activities and amenities of everyday life... The rift is... between "folk" culture, where the unschooled can be wise, and print culture, which enslaved the other senses to the eye.”

Because of that, I think, he affects many Filipino citizens during his time.

Not just that! He also have so many famous works! Here are some examples:

A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino

The A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino, known also as A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino: An Elegy in Three Scenesis a literary olay written in English by Filipino National Artist for Literature and one of the Philippines’ best postwar author, poet, and playwright Nick Joaquin in 1950. It was described as Joaquin’s “most popular play”, as the "most important Filipino play in English", and as “probably the best-known Filipino play” Apart from being regarded also as the “national play of the Philippines” because of its popularity, it also became one of the important reads in English Classes in the Philippines. Joaquin’s play was described by Anita Gates, a reviewer from New York Times, as an "engaging, well plotted metaphor for the passing of Old Manila.”

The Woman Who Had Two Navels

The Woman Who Had Two Navels is a 1961 historical novel by Nick Joaquin, an National Artist for Literature and leading English language writer from the Philippines, It is considered a classic in Philippine literature. It was the recipient of the first Harry Stonehill award. It tells the story of a Filipino elite woman who is hallucinating, and is preoccupied with the notion that she has two navels or belly buttons in order to be treated as an extraordinary person.

Nick Joaquin is a great filipino novelist!

Smokers: Victims of a Murderer

Considering Cigarette a Murderer

Why? Can't you see? Many people died because of smoking cigarette. It causes lung cancer and other lung diseases, and worst, it may also affect the people around you, even your family, friends, and love ones and it is called secondhand smoking. See? by your illegal activity, your destroying not just your health but also others.

It is said that "Smoking kills half of the lifetime of the smokers". Instead of living for another 30 years, you will live just for another 15 years. The more you smoke, the more your life span decreases. Think of the other opportunities you might lost because of smoking. Instead of having a happy and productive life, you'll just get buried.

Add caption

Some people says that "It is just a smoke. Not a big deal", but that is a BIG NO! NO! Just like the Filipino Saying "Maliit man sa inyong paningin, Nakakapuwing parin", that smoke we were talking about has a big affect to your health. Instead of being healthy, you'll just get pity by other people when you get to the point that you have to go to the hospital.

Other citizens think that because they have a healthy living like having workouts or eating healthy foods, a single stick of a cigarette won't affect them. Dude! Use your brain! We're not talking about Muscles and Reproductive System here. We're talking about your lungs! Reproductive System is different from Respiratory System! So if I were you, think about it over again.

This quote are mostly use by people who were what we called EMOS. Let me tell you something. Broken souls can never be fed by cigarette. If I'm the one with a broken soul, I rather feed it with education, education that can be used for the future, not Cigarette that can destroy my health as well as my future.

People can think of that if they will think before they act. I assure you guys that you will regret it. So why not stop this activity. Have a new hobby where you Can be more productive!

In the end of this blog, I'll share you what heart said to Cigarette:

SO GUYS, I PERSUADE YOU TO STOP SMOKING!

Plagiarism: Yes or No

That's the point! You copied everything from the Internet! Meaning? You Stole someone else's work! In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward and that is WRONG!

There are person, even artist, who plagiarizes others work. They will pretend that it's their idea or work but the truth is they just get others work. It is a serious ethical offense and cases of plagiarism can constitute copyright infringement. Thus, plagiarism and copyright infringement might overlap somewhat, but they are not equivalent concepts, and many types of plagiarism do not fall under the category of copyright infringement.

Copyright infringement is defined by copyright law and may be adjudicated by courts. Plagiarism is not defined by law, but rather by institutions (including professional associations, educational institutions, and commercial entities, such as publishing companies) and punishment for plagiarism is not set forth by the legal system.

Speaking of copyright, Copyright infringement is defined by copyright law and may be adjudicated by courts. Plagiarism is not defined by law, but rather by institutions (including professional associations, educational institutions, and commercial entities, such as publishing companies) and punishment for plagiarism is not set forth by the legal system.

This is why when you search Google about Plagiarism and look at the Images result, there's thief allover the screen. Just like this example:

This just shows us that plagiarism is a bad activity that we should not do. It is better to do your own work than presenting others work then claim that it's yours.

Now, if you're planning to plagiarizes someones' blog, you better not!

Turn Left, Turn Right

A Musician and a Writer. Two different person with a mutual feeling, same status of life but the destiny keeps them far from each other. Just like the quote "So near yet so far"

In the beginning of the movie, you can predict something that might happen but all your prediction has a high percentage wrong. It is not a typical love story.

While watching the movie, I have realized that the world is smaller that we think but bigger for a two person especially if you really don't know each other that much.

The story is very interesting that made me watched it with full focus. It is cute how they give the love story of the two main character a plot twist.

Maybe this movie is very popular in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. I've thought of that because I've seen some, I think, Fan Arts while browsing the net. Here are some examples:

In this photo, it shows the two building where they live. Yes, it's standing next to each other but they don't know that they are neighbors. there are two reasons! First, just like in the photo, their way to their work are opposite. Second, Maybe you've thought that when they go back home they might facing each other but in the story, there's a store in the middle of the way which block each other so they wont be able to see each other.

Another one is this. This one is cute. It show's the idea of the story that their apartment is just next to each other but they have know idea.

This is a very cute love story which I totally recommend to all.

to let you know a little more about the movie, here’s a brief background of the movie:
